After graduating from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, I joined a medium-sized law firm in Brabant in 1993. From the very start, my focus has been on corporate law and insolvency law.
In 1999, I moved to the Law Firm Van der Steenhoven in Amsterdam, where I became partner in 2004. Since 2008, I have been a partner at CERTA. I am also a member of the insolvency law specialist association, INSOLAD.
I maintain direct and honest contact with all my clients, who know that I respond quickly, act pragmatically, and stay involved in the case until it is resolved.

Insolvency law: I am regularly appointed as an administrator in suspensions of payment and as a trustee in large and complex bankruptcies, such as the Hudson's Bay bankruptcy, which involved 15 large department stores and 1,500 employees. As a lawyer, I also advise many creditors and directors in bankruptcy cases and provide guidance when potential insolvency threatens.

Collateral: Lenders and investors often require collateral to secure their financial risk in exchange for financing. I assist them with drafting and advising on the necessary documentation, ensuring that these securities are properly and timely obtained. My years of experience allow me to understand the perspectives of counterparties and potential future receivers in these matters.

General corporate law: I advise entrepreneurs on contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and the drafting of various agreements. This includes advising on acquisitions, whether they involve share transactions or asset-liability transactions. Additionally, I assist entrepreneurs with everyday (supplier) contracts. If legal proceedings become unavoidable, I am prepared to vigorously represent my clients in court.
